WINERY PASSPORT

RULES AND GUIDELINES

The Texas Winery Passport is a new and rewarding way to get the most out of your visit to Texas Wine Country! Whether you spend a day, a weekend or a week visiting wineries across the Lone Star State, your passport will introduce you to genuine Texas hospitality and an unforgettable wine experience simply for having fun and supporting one of the fastest-growing agricultural sectors in Texas.

Below are instructions and guidelines on how to use your Texas Winery Passport. Enjoy your tour of Texas Wine Country and whenever you have the opportunity, enjoy Texas wines. In fact, insist on them!

  1. Once you have obtained a Texas Winery Passport, please visit a Texas winery and locate the Texas Winery Passport display posted in the visitor area of the winery. The display features a code that is specific to the individual winery. Enter the code in the space provided on one of the four watermarked destination pages inside your passport booklet. It is important to note the number “zero” is used in all codes, not the letter “O.”

  2. When you have visited four wineries and entered the code from each destination (one entry per sheet), log on to www.gotexanwine.org. Click on the Passport Rewards tab and enter the codes from your passport. After providing your contact information, your reward will be shipped to you, courtesy of the Texas Department of Agriculture.

  3. Once you have visited four wineries and filled the spaces in your passport, simply start a new passport to earn additional rewards. Ask for your free Texas Winery Passport at any Texas winery or tasting room or order one at www.gotexanwine.org. Completed passports can be collected and used to track your winery visits and note your favorite Texas wines.

  4. Once you redeem five Texas winery passports, you will no longer be able to claim a reward based on completion of one individual passport. However, keep participating! After 20 winery visits (five completed passports), the number of winery visits required to reach the next redemption level increases. You may still enter your winery codes each time you complete a passport, and your reward will be sent to you once the level of required participation is met. Although TDA will continue to administer the program, individual wineries will provide rewards based on the passport holder’s level of participation. Rewards will not be chosen by the passport holder, but will be presented in the order and date in which the wineries commit.

  5. Once you surpass redemption Level 5 (20 winery visits), you will be provided only one reward per address based on the levels determined.

  6. Rewards are based on availability, season and winery participation. In the case of rewards provided directly to the passport holder by a participating winery, the reward winner and the participating winery will be responsible for any necessary scheduling. All taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes, along with any applicable gratuities, are the sole responsibility of the reward winner(s). Although TDA will attempt to ensure that every passport holder receives his or her reward, the passport holder acknowledges and recognizes that participating wineries may withdraw rewards without notice as a result of economic or other factors. In such events, the passport holder acknowledges and agrees that neither TDA nor the participating wineries have any liability, legal duty or responsibility to the passport holder.

  7. Rewards are non-transferable and may be redeemed only by the passport holder. Rewards may not be substituted.

  8. No cash awards will be provided, either directly or in lieu of, or as a substitute for rewards under the program.

  9. By participating in the Texas Winery Passport program, the passport holder agrees to cooperate with TDA. TDA may publicize and use information, data, conclusions, articles, reports, brochures, audio and videotapes, photographs and other items related to, or in connection with, the passport holder’s participation in the program. By participating in the program, the passport holder gives TDA the right and authority to release any information related to a passport holder’s participation in the Texas Winery Passport program, unless otherwise prohibited by law. The passport holder consents to the use of his or her name and photograph or video for publicity, promotion and advertising purposes, in all media and formats used by TDA, without further compensation, throughout the world, in perpetuity. By entering, participants and passport holders agree to release and hold harmless TDA, its commissioner, assistant commissioners, directors, officers, employees, agents and advisors, and assigns from any and all liability, injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising out of participation in the program, or in connection with the receipt or use of any award provided under the program.

  10. TDA’s decision as to all matters related to the administration of the program and selection of award recipients are final. Participants must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in the Winery Passport Policies and Guidelines.

  11. TDA reserves the right to cancel or modify the Winery Passport program without notice.

  12. The Winery Passport program does not create any debt on behalf of the State of Texas and/or TDA in violation of Section 49 Article III of the Texas Constitution. In compliance with Section 6, Article III, of the Texas Constitution, all obligations of the State of Texas or TDA hereunder, if any, are subject to the availability of appropriations and authorization to pay by the Texas Legislature.

  13. TDA assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, disruption or delay of the postal service or other delivery service.

  14. There is no purchase necessary to participate in the Texas Winery Passport program.
